The workshops we offer focus on the following areas:

  • Financial literacy – Learning essential financial skills including opening and using a bank account, budgeting and managing finances, education on how to keep your money safe, and awareness of scams and how to avoid falling victim to one.
  • Dealing with the police – We teach our members how to interact with law enforcement effectively.
  • Communicating with confidence – Effective communication is an essential life skill. We explore different methods of communication and how to conduct yourself in a confident manner.
  • Identifying untapped talent in the workplace – offering access and expertise to organisations who work towards uncovering untapped talent to enable them to diversify their workforce and an opportunity for our young people to learn and understand some of the barriers black employees face when entering and advancing in the world of work
  • Goal setting – Developing a personal action plan in order to motivate you to achieve your short and long term goals.
  • Drug awareness – Effective drug awareness is important to prepare our members for the influences they may face.
  • Wellbeing and resilience tools – Taking care of your physical and mental wellbeing is an essential skill that improves happiness, health and productivity. We explore what this means and how to take care of yourself.
  • Mental Health – We provide our members with information about taking care of their mental health, recognising when they may need further support and how they can support others may be struggling with their mental wellbeing
  • Understanding personal identity – Your identity is something that gives you a sense of attachment or ownership. This could be your beliefs, values, ethnicity, hobbies and more.
  • Heritage – We explore the background of where are young people are from and what it means to them.
  • Career development – In this part of the programme we look at ways to enhance employment prospects and steps towards achieving a desired career.
  • Decision making – How do you make good decisions? What affects your ability to make good decisions? We dive into the art of decision making.
  • Sexual health – We aim to provide the knowledge and skills to help our young people stay safe and healthy.
  • Campaigning – Aim to amplify  black young voices by creating safe platforms to share their experiences and stories
