To help young people improve and gain an understanding of self, history and heritage

To provide opportunities for the development of transferable skills through the use of challenging activities, with an aim towards confidence building, and ultimately personal fulfillment.

To teach them the value of building and maintenance of relationships and the importance of respect for different cultural values.

To provide opportunities for the young people we work with and thereby enabling them to achieve their maximum potential.

Chief Mentor

Rumbi is Human Resources professional and the founder of African Youth Arise (AYA). Rumbi’s challenges and experiences as a young African person living in the UK invoked her passion for pursuit of excellence for young African people living in the diaspora.

Mercilyne is full-time business student. Mercilyne joined African Youth Arise as an intern in January 2018, her specialist areas are social media, and event organisation.

Ruth

Team Member

Ruth is a Psychology with counselling graduate from the University of Roehampton. Ruth has has a history working with youth beginning at a youth committee called Off the streets, aimed at empowering various youth.
